SimHealthAI
A clinical simulation tool designed for dietetic education. We simulate the dietetic patient journey from referral to intervention to follow up allowing student dietitians to practice the application of their professional and communication skills in a safe educational environment to promote confidence and competence .
The benefits of simulated learning environments:
Narrow the theory-practice gap
Bridge the gap between theory and practice by offering standardized clinical encounters through immersive learning experiences. Enhance communication skill development and dietetic knowledge application, ensuring students are well-prepared for the transition from academic learning to real-world clinical practice.
Competency Based Assessments
Academics (or designated practice educator if on placement with us) can track student performance through integrated assessment tools within simulation platforms that record metrics on decision-making and proficiency. You can monitor progress, provide structured feedback, and ensure systematic evaluation of skills
Decision Making Skills
Build student confidence through a safe and supportive AI training environment. By using SimHealthAI you can provide exposure to diverse clinical scenarios with varying complexity, allowing for risk-free learner practice.

Embedding SimHealthAI into academic study bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application by allowing students to engage in realistic dietetic consultations. This integration enables learners to apply classroom concepts in simulated patient interactions, enhancing their critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Scenarios are categorised by appropriate level & speciality, with the option for students to review individual patients, clinic lists or inpatient caseloads, gaining an experience across multiple settings and specialities.
HEIs can tailor dietetic scenarios to your curriculum and learning objectives.

To.Be.A.Dietitian offers a practice-based learning opportunity where dietetic learners manage their own virtual caseload using the SimHealthAI patient simulator, enhancing their practical skills in a safe environment. Each student is paired with a dietetic supervisor who sets up the placement and conducts regular progress reviews, providing mentorship and feedback.
Post-Session Feedback
The simulator supports learner progress by tracking individual performance throughout each consultation. After every scenario, you will get a summary of proficiencies across key competencies, providing detailed feedback that highlights strengths and areas for improvement. This data-driven approach empowers students to reflect on their experiences and refine their skills, fostering continuous growth in their clinical abilities.
''Simulation-based techniques and immersive technologies are core ways for training the health and care workforce alongside traditional educational methods.''
— NHS England
''The educational benefits of simulation in healthcare education include: Deliberate practice with immediate debriefing and/ or feedback from educators, peers, and, or standardised patients (actors) allowing for reflection, change, and improved performance.''
— Simulation Toolkit, The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
''(Simulation) provides standardisation of cases, promotes critical thinking, allows supervision of service user care, provides immediate feedback, and helps learners to assimilate knowledge and experience''.
