I am a UK-based Registered Dietitian with extensive experience in the NHS, private practice, and higher education. Throughout my career, I have dedicated myself to expanding my knowledge and honing my skills in various facets of nutrition and health. This journey of continuous learning has included deep dives into mental health, behaviour change and nutrition. My training in behaviour change and health coaching has equipped me with the tools to effectively support clients in making sustainable lifestyle adjustments.
My journey in the NHS and private practice has equipped me with a broad spectrum of expertise in areas such as weight management, pregnancy complications such as gestational diabetes & management of hyperemesis, gastrointestinal disorders & surgery and mental health. Beyond the NHS, I have gained experience in weight management & lifelong health. I founded two prominent weight management courses in Surrey —one commissioned by Guildford & Waverley CCG—and co-established a pioneering family weight management service in Surrey, aimed at supporting low-income families, commissioned by Surrey County Council.
Transitioning into academia, I started as a Teaching Fellow in Nutrition & Dietetics at the University of Surrey, and then progressed to the role as Course Director at the University of East Anglia where I launched their first dietetic programme, MSc Dietetics pre-registration programme. From accreditation to launch, I developed the proposed programme through translating the BDA curriculum and the HCPC standards of proficiency into a masters programme, ensuring to underpin modules and linking their content to provide linear learning. As the practice education lead I successfully grew placement capacity within the NHS and developed non-traditional practice placement opportunities, widening student exposure to different paths within dietetics.
Committed to contributing to the dietetic education & community, my roles extend to serving as the Education Officer on the Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition Group (PENG) of the British Dietetic Association, and I am a member of the Malnutrition Action Group (MAG) – a standing committee for BAPEN and BAPEN's Education Committee.
I transitioned into a freelance role full time in 2024, working as a dietetic educator, aiming to influence, teach, and guide the new generation of dietitians. My freelance work allows me to leverage my extensive experience across clinical practice and academia to offer tailored educational services such as practice education opportunities for a number of UK University dietetic programmes and mentorship & guidance for RD2B's and new graduates. I am passionate about mentoring future dietitians, delivering workshops, and developing innovative educational resources that empower aspiring professionals to excel in their careers. Through my freelance endeavours, I remain dedicated to advancing the dietetic profession and fostering the growth of competent, compassionate dietitians who are well-equipped to meet the diverse needs of their clients.
